What if the purpose of giving was simply that you could change someone else's reality?
You have more to give than you even realize.
You can give your time, knowledge, talents, encouragement, acknowledgment, thoughts, compliments, kindness, smiles, love and money.
Your gifts can be so meaningful in someone else's life whether you are aware of their direct effects or not. And those gifts, by the Law of Giving and Receiving, will return back to you tenfold.
So give generously, cheerfully and often!
There are several wonderful quotes about giving that many great writers and philosophers have delivered over the years. Click here to read some of my favorite giving quotes.
When you get into the habit of giving to others cheerfully and generously you will be practicing the most effective techniques for creating what you wish to have in your own life. Combine that with practicing gratitude and you've got a recipe for happiness.
Since we live in a time where the internet has brought all of humanity closer together than ever before in history, we now have the unique opportunity to help others all over the world by doing our charitable giving online. Of course the internet has it's downsides to that as well so be sure to be discerning in your choices. The sites I've listed below do no necessarily involve YOU donating any money, the power of giving you have is of your time and energy and your CLICK and by doing that, sponsors of these nonprofit sites will donate THEIR money on your behalf... and you can click MULTIPLE sites EVERY DAY and track your giving!
The AnimalRescueSite.com has been around for over 20 years now and has supported feeding and caring for shelter animals. To date they have funded 796,700,350 bowls of food because of the millions of visitors coming to click on their site. They also raise money selling cute animal print items in their shop such as jewelry, clothing, pet supplies and more! Once you visit, you'll see a handful of other causes that this foundation focuses on supporting including: World Hunger, Breast Cancer, Autism, Diabetes, Alzheimers, Literacy, Rainforest and Veterans. |
There is also theNonProfits.com which is a free online directory that has compiled over 70 non-profit organization sites that offer free click to donate opportunities. For example if you want to support clean oceans and plastic removal, then you can find the "Help Oceans" link on that page and once you click over you'll see that you can answer a simple, educational trivia question and because you went to the page the sponsors then will donate THEIR money to that cause because of your visit. |
Tithing is the practice of giving away 10% of your income (tithe means “tenth”), usually to a charitable cause or to someone whom you believe has enriched your life.
Some people absolutely swear by the practice of tithing and consider it integral to the process of wealth creation.
I've personally come to know first hand that the practice of giving 10% of everything you earn to YOURSELF is truly a very powerful way to build wealth.
Putting away 10% of all the money that comes to you and NEVER spending it (not a rainy day fund, not a savings account) it's a HAVEing account. When you HAVE money that you never spend and you know is always there to support you (like a good friend), then it puts you in the vibration of receiving which allows more to come to you.
Tithing must be done from a state of abundance. If you harbor thoughts of scarcity as you tithe, then tithing will only become uncomfortable for you.
*NOTE* Be aware when you are giving (be it money, a gift, your time, your talents...) and you're doing it from a space of obligation, or expectation of a return or specific outcome - those are actually judgments that will lower your vibration.
Instead, strive to give from a space of kindness where it requires no more than just the desire to give.
Here is another example of the power of giving.
There are a lot of hard-working people in the world with unrealized ideas and desires for creating wealth and bettering their lives. I donate to this organization that is bringing together unique entrepreneurs in the developing world with those of us who have the means to loan them the money they need to achieve their goals.
Over the span of 5 years with a total investment of $75, I have been able to generate 18 loans and each one has given me such joy to be a contribution to lives around the globe.
By choosing a loan on Kiva.org you can "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the entrepreneur you've sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back to lend out over and over again.
When I was researching charities to give to online I came across a very helpful service called Charity Navigator.
Charity Navigator helps you give smarter by objectively evaluating and rating the financial health of thousands of the largest charities so you can find charities that you can trust and support.
I found it helpful because it provided information on several charities I never knew existed plus it shows details of their mission statements, revenue/expenses, efficiency and gives helpful feedback.
The best part is that they are a one-stop shop for donating online. You can research each charity and give money all in one place. Plus they keep track of your donations for tax purposes.
Be sure you really believe in the causes you are supporting and feel 100% good about giving your donation in order to get the most benefit.
If you like what you've seen here and want to show your appreciation and "pay it forward" so that other seekers can receive it too, then click here to make a donation of any amount through PayPal.
